Led by Cathryn Berger Kaye, M.A.
It’s time! Let’s explore various strategies to infuse service learning experiences into your academic classes. “How?” you may wonder. It’s easier than you may think!
Over four months, you will be able to apply different approaches. Consider how we differentiate for student learning; similarly, when we offer differentiated ways for you to design curriculum, we elevate creativity and discovery.
Each module has asynchronous content to review. During five synchronous sessions, we personalize these curricular constructs for your context. Our online conversations invite you to share ideas and support colleagues as we explore:
- Interdisciplinary Ideas
- The Five Stages of Service Learning Unit Planner
- Curricular Stories (everyone loves a good story) linking two to six units for a fluid service learning process
- Adaptive Planners
- Examining existing service learning curricula
- and MORE!
Many of these ideas are exclusive to our courses or presented only during our in-person workshops. We are finally bringing these resources directly to you and we look forward to many “aha!” moments along the way!
Synchronous sessions are held the weeks of November 11, December 2, January 20, February 10, and March 10.

If possible, please have a copy of The Complete Guide to Service Learning.
About Cathryn Berger Kaye
Service learning – a powerful approach to crafting the narrative of experience. Children and teens at all grade levels want to participate in their world and light up with the possibility of figuring out pathways that contribute to the social good. We are never too young or too old to act with purpose, especially one that elevates kindness, promotes equity, strengthens problem-solving, or builds meaningful reciprocal partnerships. Shaping curriculum with the ethos of service and youth agency at the core is joy for me. With this joy, I am dedicated to sharing decades of knowledge and unique approaches that bring learning to life.
